National sepsis expert Maureen Seckel is a critical care clinical nurse specialist and sepsis coordinator at Christiana Care in Newark, Delaware. She has been a member of the facility’s Ernest Amory Codman Award-winning Sepsis Value Improvement Team since 2004. Seckel is widely published and has presented on multiple critical care topics, including sepsis. She served as the AACN liaison and an author of both the 2016 and 2021 updates to the Surviving Sepsis Campaign Guidelines. She was also a member of the 2013-2015 Society of Critical Care Medicine collaborative “Surviving Sepsis on the Wards” and served on AACN’s board of directors (2010-2013).
