Jos Latour

Professor in Clinical Nursing at the University of Plymouth, UK

Professor Jos Latour is a Professor in Clinical Nursing at the University of Plymouth and the chair of the research group Innovations in PAtient Care and QualiTy (ImPACT) at the Institute of Health and Communities.
Professor Latour is also the Associate Head of School of Research as the School of Nursing and Midwifery. He has been a nurse for over 35 years. His clinical academic post is based at University Hospital Plymouth NHS Trust, in Plymouth and Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, where he is the director of the Clinical Schools aiming to drive clinical research forward with clinical staff. The research programme of Professor Latour is defined as “Enhancing Clinical Care and Patient Outcomes across the lifespan” with the main streams of patient and family empowerment, patient and family-witnessed resuscitation, end-of-life care, paediatric sepsis, patient and family reported outcome measured and clinical care improvement. He is an associate editor of Paediatric Critical Care Medicine and an international editorial boards member of several other international peer-reviewed journals.
Internationally, Prof. Latour is a Professor in Paediatric Nursing at Hunan Children’s Hospital, Changsha, China by invitation of the Health and Family Planning Commission of Hunan Province under the One Hundred International Talent Programme. He is also a visiting Professor at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia.
