Lecture Summary

This talk will cover the pathophysiology of burns, burns assessment and resuscitation. Airway management and the factors influencing this will be discussed. Fluid resuscitation – type of fluid to use, resuscitation end points and the evidence behind this will be covered. We will also cover screening for sepsis in the context of burns and how to identify and manage pain in this patient group.
